So , sure it's a typical deli. But it's gotten better since it was " best of the best".   And you need to consider you options are paying 3-4 dollars more across the street for the same sandwich, or going several blocks away to still pay 1-2 dollars more.

You have to be picky, but they have two said tables, a hot and cold, they have oatmeal with plenty of fruit choices in the morning.
Unfortunately they close as early as 3:30 but do do the others.
This place is a great find if you work at Woolworth building or nearby.

I personally eat a Mexican tuna sandwich, which comes with avacodo and spices, or french toast often.

This place is awful and the food is bad. I can't recall how I ended up here. Food is greasy and no appealing. Selection is poor. Only good thing there is no line lol

Only judging my guys making my salads and wraps throughout the week! Always enjoy a good, quick lunch here in Fidi. The prices aren't too bad and, depending on what you purchase, you can get a free soda or water bottle.

There's also tables and chairs in the back if you want to enjoy your lunch inside. It gets pretty crowded during lunch time, so try to come after 1:30 p.m. The place promptly closes at 3.

Great overall place for lunch, but I don't trust the buffet style foods - consider yourself warned.

So, the low reviews indeed paints an accurate portrayal of this food business as it is utterly overpriced for very mediocre food and extremely poor customer service.  I ordered a lamb gyro for $8.75 which contained insufficient Tzatziki sauce, too much oil and grease.  I like whole pieces of thinly-sliced marinated pork skewered in a large stack on a vertical rotisserie, but Elim unfortunately, cuts the meat into tiny pieces.  There were no oregano, thyme or paprika are the ingredients as a traditional Greek dish.  The pita bread was over cooked on the grill.  My gyro was cut in half like a sandwich wrap and was not provided with a fork. It is a gyro! Can the cook understand this ethnic dish is a platter- not a sandwich wrap?

Upon payment the cashier shoot the utter most rudest scowl look at me when asked the price who then pointed to oblivion.  She was not pointing to the cash register display screen pole and my view was obstructed.  I asked for the second time: "how much is my total?" Ergo, again the woman shot the utter most rudest scowl look at me with cold malice eyes of hostility and extreme strife.  Menacing.

I've been coming here since the places was called "best of the best deli." They've recently upgraded their kitchen equipment, staff is super friendly and welcoming, prices are very reasonable, and food is delicious. I work across the street and this deli has always been  is my go to spot

Update: I am changing my review from 5 stars to 2 stars. I was a frequent regular here for breakfast practically every morning, as I work across the street. Recently, my co-worker had purchased oatmeal to then find two dead bugs in his cup of oatmeal. I can now see why this place has issues with the city's department of health. I will not be returning to this deli and am now going to the Apple gourmet deli further down one block on Broadway instead, as their food is great and pricing is similar to Elim Bistro.
